Fatality From Ida Flooding Confirmed By Harrison Police
The body of one person was found approximately one-quarter mile from the vehicle on a bank of the Blind Brook Creek.

HARRISON, NY — Harrison police have confirmed at least one Storm Ida-related death.
On Thursday, shortly before 2 a.m., Harrison police received a report of a missing elderly Rye Brook couple. The emergency call set off an intensive search of the area. The search led to an unoccupied vehicle on a guide rail, pinned against a utility pole at Lincoln Avenue and Brookside Way in Purchase.
The Blind Brook Creek had earlier surged beyond the creek banks and onto Lincoln Avenue where the vehicle was located.

The body of one person was found approximately one-quarter mile from the vehicle on a creek bank. Police are still searching for the other occupant of the car, as of 4 p.m. The next of kin has been notified, but the identities of the victims have not yet been released.
UPDATE: News 12 Westchester is reporting a second fatality associate with this incident.
