Harrison HS Spring Musical Tops Metro Awards With 11 Nominations
Harrison High School students just earned 11 Metro Award nominations, which is the most of any public high school participating.

HARRISON, NY — Harrison High School shined under the spotlight and earned recognition from audiences and peers in the process.
The Harrison Central School District announced that Harrison High School just received 11 Metro Award nominations, which is the most of any public high school.
The Metro Awards are presented to musical theater productions, actors and and creative teams who take the stage every spring in high schools in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, and Bergen counties, according to the awards website.

Harrison High School is one of 63 participating schools whose performances were evaluated by judges who attended performances and nominated schools in 36 different categories.
The school's Footlight Players' spring musical production of "Mean Girls HS Version" earned the nominations, including Best Overall Production of a Musical.

The district says "all nominations highlight the individual and collective efforts of our fantastic students and teachers who helped make the show successful."

- Overall Production of a Musical: Mean Girls HS Version Harrison High School
- Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role: Jadyn Schwartz as Regina George
- Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role: Tessa Marsico as Gretchen Wieners
- Performance by an Actor in a Cameo Role: Luke Castellano as Principal Duvall
- Performance by a Chorus: Mean Girls HS Version Harrison High School
- Achievement in Musical Direction: Meghan Test
- Achievement in Choreography: Deborah Toteda
- Vocal Performance by a Male-Identifying Performer: Elvis Njuguna as Aaron Samuels
- Comedic Performance by a Male-Identifying Performer: Ulysses Bravo Brown as Kevin G
- Student Critic: Evan Gessner
- Student Technical Achievement: Stella O'Connell, Lighting Design
The Metro awards ceremony will be held on June 10, at Purchase College.
