Harrison Man Accused of Recording Nude Minor

Mario Salaverria, 35, was arraigned on three felony charges Thursday in Harrison Town Court.

A 35-year-old Harrison man is accused of videotaping a nude child three separate times, including one incident where he secretly installed a cell phone in a bathroom to record the girl touching herself in a sexual manner, court records show.

Mario Salaverria, 35, was arraigned in Harrison Town Court Thursday. He faces charges of unlawful surveillance in the second-degree, a class E felony, and two charges of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child, class D felonies.

The first alleged encounter took place on May 11, records show. Salaverria, who lives on Congress St., is accused of secretly installing a cell phone in a bathroom to record the child as she was naked and touching herself in a "sexual explicit manner," according to court records.

The felony complaint says Salaverria had direct knowledge the child was under the age of 17. The victim's age was not revealed in court documents.

On June 3 and July 27, the complaint accuses Salaverria of installing a cell phone in the master bedroom of a home and recording sexual encounters with the alleged victim without her knowledge.

A Harrison Police detective filed the felony complaint.

Salaverria was held on $100,000 bail and remanded to Westchester County Jail. His next court appearance is set for Tuesday.
