'Madison' The K9 Sniffs Out 4 Teen Car Theft Suspects On The Lam
The bloodhound K-9 officer with a specialized nose for the case left the "fleeing foursome" with nowhere to run.

HARRISON, NY — It seems that when the Westchester County Police Department's Madison is on the case, fleeing is futile.
The Westchester County Police Department's Special Operations Divison praised the work of WCPD Sergeant Hicks and Madison the bloodhound, who tracked down four suspects this weekend who jumped out of a car reported stolen and attempted to flee into the woods.
The incident took place on Saturday when an officer in another jurisdiction tried to stop the car, but the driver of the stolen vehicle refused to pull over and instead sped away.

The car eventually crashed near the Westchester County Airport, on the entrance ramp to I-684 northbound.
The four occupants of the car, who the WCPD referred to as the "fleeing foursome," jumped out of the vehicle and ran from police into a nearby wooded area.

Officers from nearby agencies responded to the scene and helped establish a perimeter.
Sergeant Hicks and his partner, Madison the bloodhound, with help from Emergency Service Unit officers Byrnes and Hinkley, conducted a track and found the four suspects to the west of 684, next to the reservoir. The suspects were soon taken into custody.
The WCPD praised the "great teamwork by all," including the North Castle Police Department, the New York State Police, and the NYC Department of Environmental Protection Police Department, which launched a boat to box the suspects in from the water side of the woods.
The four suspects, ranging in age from 16 to 18 years old, were charged with felony third degree criminal possession of stolen property.
