Morning 5: Game of the Week Returns, 9/11 Ceremony at Manhattanville

1. Expect More Rain

The National Weather Service expects more rain throughout the day today, with a possible thunderstorm early. Up to half an inch of additional rainfall is expected before the rain possibly clears out Friday.

2. Check Back Today For the Game of the Week

Harrison's varsity volleyball team started their season last night. Patch will feature their season-opener later this morning as our game of the week.

3. Plan on Volunteering Friday

Hurricane Irene has driven up the need for volunteers in our community. About 100 vendors have already signed up to be a part of Serve and Learn: Westchester Remembers 9/11, so that would be a great chance to help out. The event takes place Friday afternoon at the Westchester County Center.

4. 9/11 Candlight Vigil at Manhattanville

Students at will remember 9/11 tonight with a candlelight ceremony at 9:11 p.m. The local students will be joining campuses across the country who are also holding ceremonies.

5. A Year Ago in Harrison

On Sept. 8, 2010, the   in that appeared to have been arson. The fire caused some damage in the woods, but no one was hurt.
