Police Charge 4 With Possessing Drugs

The following arrest reports were provided by the Harrison Police Department, they do not indicate a conviction.

Harrison police say they found drugs in four different vehicles this week during routine traffic stops.

A New Rochelle man was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance after police say he was found with prescription medication without a doctor’s note on Dec. 1.

Police say Joseph DiBenedetto, 57, of 55 Maple Ave., was carrying 18 Methadone Hydrochloride pills in a miss-marked prescription bottle when he was pulled over for a traffic stop on Mamaroneck Avenue.

Since Methadone Hydrochloride is a prescription medication and DiBenedetto did not have a prescription for the pills, he was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. 

DiBenedetto was processed and released. He is due in Harrison Court on Dec. 20.

A Rye Brook man faces the same charge after police say he was caught with ecstasy pills in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Nov. 29.

Michael Marini, 23, of 42 Roanoke Ave., was arrested near the intersection of Westchester and Webb Avenues after police say they smelled marijuana in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

While searching Marini's pockets police say they found a metal container holding ecstasy pills. Police also found more ecstasy pills in Marini's vehicle. Police charged Marini with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. He posted cash bail and was released.

Police also cited two people for possession of marijuana this week. A 19-year-old White Plains man was cited on Nov. 27 after police smelled marijuana in his vehicle at a traffic safety point on Westchester Avenue. Police say they found several bags containing marijuana residue in the man's vehicle.

A 30-year-old Port Chester man was also cited on Nov. 30 after police say they found marijuana in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Westchester Avenue.
