Stop & Shop Delivers 5,000 Teddy Bears and Toys to Cancer Survivor

Six Year-Old Larchmont Cancer Survivor Will Donate Toys to Local Pediatric Cancer & Hospital Patients Across the Tri-State for the Holidays

Stop & Shop stores across Westchester and the Hudson Valley delivered more than 5,000 teddy bears and toys to six-year-old cancer survivor, Cassidy Kline, at the Stop & Shop in New Rochelle.

Cassidy’s Charity, Cuddles from Cassidy (https://www.cuddlesfromcassidy.org/), will wrap and deliver the toys and teddy bears to pediatric cancer and hospital patients across the tri-state area ahead of the holiday season, helping thousands of children enjoy a happy holiday.

Cassidy serves as one of Stop & Shop’s Help Cure Childhood Cancer Campaign patient ambassadors which has donated over $26 million to pediatric cancer care and research hospitals over the past 21 years.

Cassidy is currently in remission after being diagnosed with stage-four rhabdomyo-sarcoma, a rare muscle and soft tissue cancer. While Cassidy was in treatment as MSK Kids, the pediatric cancer department at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, she realized that having a toy or teddy bear by her side made her time at the hospital less painful and gave her comfort during often painful procedures. As a result, Cassidy and her mom created the Cuddles from Cassidy Pediatric Cancer Foundation, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to provide comfort and joy to children battling life-threatening illnesses by providing cuddles - care packages with stuffed animals, toys, and tokens of love - to put smiles on their faces.
