Victim In Fatal High-Speed I-684 Crash ID'd As Bronx Man

The 59-year-old's Lucid Air sedan left the roadway and struck a parked tractor trailer in Westchester County.

HARRISON, NY — The man killed in a high-speed crash, while driving a high-performance luxury car, has been identified by New York state troopers.

On March 2, New York state police in Somers investigated a fatal motor vehicle crash on I-684 in Harrison that happened just before 3 p.m.

Investigators believe the victim's 2024 Lucid Air sedan was traveling at a high speed when it left the roadway northbound near mile marker 0.4 and struck a parked 2019 Freightliner tractor trailer. The driver, Kevin A. Smith, age 59, of the Bronx, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Harrison Police Department, the Purchase Fire Department, and the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office were all on scene for the gruesome crash.
