Wings Air Launches New 15-Min. Westchester/Manhattan Commuter Flights

Your commute to the city could be reduced to just 15 minutes or less, no matter how bad the traffic is on the bridges.

HARRISON, NY — The morning commute is about to get a lot easier for those who have the means to trade the Metro-North station for Westchester County Airport.

Wings Air Helicopters announced the newest addition to its charter services: weekday morning commuter flights from Westchester County Airport (HPN) to New York City. This commuter's dream launches on Wednesday. The company invites commuters to "get an extra hour of sleep and still make it to the office on time by flying in state-of-the-art Airbus AS350 helicopters."

Flights will depart on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 8 a.m. from Wings Air’s home terminal at Westchester County Airport (Atlantic Aviation West) and land at the East 34th Street Heliport (FDR Drive in Manhattan) a mere 15 minutes later.

The company said that, based on demand, additional departures and return flights may be added later.

Flights will operate in Wings Air’s Airbus AS350 helicopters with 4-6 passengers, depending on passenger weights. Passengers will be treated to forward-facing seats and BOSE noise-canceling headsets.

The price is $499 per seat plus booking fees. Package deals are available for frequent flyers.
