Winning Florida Panthers Assistant Coach Brings Stanley Cup to Manhattanville University
Myles Fee who played at Manhattanville 2002-2006 is celebrated by university community

PURCHASE, NY, July 31, 2025 – Manhattanville Alum Coach Myles Fee returned to campus today after coaching the Florida Panthers to a Stanley Cup victory against the Edmonton Oilers this past June.
Coach Fee, who played with the Manhattanville Valiants from 2002 to 2006, brought the Stanley Cup to campus in a ceremony attended by the school’s hockey players, coaches, family, and friends at Reid Castle.
Fee joined the Florida Panthers as an assistant coach in 2022. The team won the Stanley Cup in 2024 and 2025. Before joining the Panthers, Fee worked for the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, Buffalo Sabres and the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers, in addition to serving on the coaching staffs of Team Europe in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

At the ceremony, Manhattanville University President Frank D. Sánchez, Ph.D., said that Fee not only excelled at Manhattanville, but his arrival ushered in a golden era for the team which saw them ranked 2nd in the country by Fee’s junior year.
Fee went on to play in 37 games for the Valiants as a defenseman over his four years. In his junior year, Manhattanville made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history in 2005. The team won 21 games that season, ranking No. 2 in that year's final USCHO poll.

Sánchez added that Fee’s positive attitude propelled him to success. Despite coming from a small town in Canada and having to adjust to New York, he took advantage of all opportunities and made the most of them.
“To students, here’s some great guidance that Myles offers: Do anything and everything you can, meet people, talk to people, don’t stay in your hockey circle. You’ll get a wealth of knowledge from every single person you meet at the school. If you can draw on some aspect of their lives and apply it to your life, you will grow,’’ he said.
Sanchez added: “Thank you so much for allowing us to celebrate this tremendous accomplishment, and we hope to see you again next year,’’ he said to laughter and applause.
