4 Arrests Made After Illegal Fireworks Set Off In Hauppauge: Police
Four people were accused of igniting fireworks in the Hauppauge Industrial Park near homes, commercial properties and woods, police say.
HAUPPAUGE, NY — Four people who illegally set off fireworks in Hauppauge earlier in May were arrested, Suffolk police said Tuesday.
Numerous people complained about fireworks being detonated during the overnight hours in Hauppauge, including an incident reported around 4:15 a.m. May 2, police said. The reports prompted Fourth Precinct Investigative Unit officers to begin an investigation, police said.
A group of people ignited fireworks in the parking lot of 275 Marcus Boulevard, located within the Hauppauge Industrial Park, police said. The area is close to residential homes, commercial properties and woods, police said.

The following people were charged with second-degree criminal nuisance and reckless endangerment of property, police said:
- Ethan Young, 24, of Port Jefferson, was arrested on May 25.
- Ryan Newberg, 26, of Centereach, was arrested on May 21.
- Theodore Campbell, 24, of East Setauket, was arrested on May 21.
- Mark Posner, 22, of South Setauket, was arrested on May 18.
Posner was additionally charged with unlawfully dealing with fireworks, police said.

They were all issued desk appearance tickets and are set to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
