Amber Court Announces Commitment To Affordable Pricing at Lake Shore
Major Long Island Assisted Living Provider Opts Not to Match Competitors' Price Hike
Amber Court Assisted Living Communities held an Open House on Thursday, October 27th for residents and their families at its newly-acquired Amber Court of Lake Shore facility in Lake Ronkonkoma. The event featured company executives formally introducing the new management team, planned renovations, and upgraded services before chatting with the group over casual food and drink.
Robert Snyder, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director for Amber Court, told the audience, “There are certainly five-star facilities on Long Island, but very few people can afford them. We believe everyone deserves affordable quality care with an emphasis on individuality and enjoyment in a warm, nurturing, family environment.”
Amber Court, which owns and operates a total of eight facilities in New York and New Jersey – including additional Long Island locations in Smithtown and Westbury – has built a reputation for providing state-of-the-art senior care since 1968. The family-owned and operated company has also distinguished itself in the marketplace by its commitment to controlling costs in the face of a challenged economy.

“This is an important moment in time for local families to understand the services available to their loved ones when home is no longer the best option,” said Maria Brownworth, Amber Court’s Vice President, Community Outreach. “As we all deal with the impact of inflation, there has been a lot of talk about assisted living being priced out of reach by certain operators. We’ve heard that talk and, in the best interest of the families we serve, have opted to maintain our affordable pricing despite our local competitor’s decision to increase costs to families by as much as 20 percent.”
Amber Court’s Regional Executive Director Avi Tennenbaum and Mrs. Brownworth also shared formal remarks with more than 100 attendees/current residents eager to learn more about future plans at this lakeside community, formerly known as The Lake Shore Assisted Living Residence.

The feelings of many families in attendance were summed up by the daughter of a resident who said, “We’re curious to learn more about the new upgrades, but the decision by the new management not to raise the rates is a true gift.”
