UCP-LI Welcomes Newest Board Member, Rich Tavarez

The Board of Directors of UCP of Long Island are please to announce the appointment of Rich Tavarez.

auppauge, NY – The Board of Directors at United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island (UCP-LI) is proud to announce the appointment of Richard C. Tavarez, Community Relations Officer at Jovia Financial Credit Union, to the UCP-LI Board of Directors.

“We are excited to welcome Richard to the Board of Directors here at UCP-LI. Rich’s passion for community service and for helping others is exemplary and I am confident that Rich’s experience will be a welcome addition to UCP-LI. We look forward to working closely with Rich for many years to come,” said Thomas Pfundstein, Board Chair.

Jovia Financial Credit Union is one of New York’s largest credit unions and a Top 100 Credit Union in the United States. Rich has an extensive background in business banking development and community relations. In his current role, Rich is responsible for engaging, building the brand name, and representing Jovia at business networking events and community activities on Long Island.

Rich is a dynamic public speaker, is well respected in the banking community and has received numerous professional certifications. Rich has worked in leadership roles and led teams for some of the largest financial institutions in the world such as JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America and TD Bank during his 23-year career.

“I am honored to join the board of UCP of Long Island. I am a lifelong advocate of people with disabilities, and I look forward to working closely with my fellow board members to support UCP-LI. I feel fortunate to be able to make an impact in the lives of children and adults with a disability and I am grateful for the opportunity to help spread awareness of UCP-LI’s important mission,” said Richard.

Richard resides in Lynbrook with his wife, Christina, and their four children.
