Here are the top four stories today in Brooklyn Heights-DUMBO:
- Breaking news! As Brooklyn Heights Association and Lincoln Restler report, the Clark Street 2 and 3 train station is scheduled to open this evening, pending MTA approval. The final tests of the new elevators were being performed on Friday. (Twitter)
- The City Council voted on Thursday to approve two controversial towers along Atlantic Avenue, that will yield 35 percent affordable housing, and 65 percent market-rate. Councilwoman Crystal Hudson had disapproved of the towers until she made a last-minute deal with the developers. (Patch)
- Make sure to stop by the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens for "Weekends in Bloom" Saturday or May 7, to witness the height of cherry blossom season. The garden's also keeping extended hours during the weekdays through May 15. (Patch)
- The Five Borough Bike Tour will be passing through DUMBO on Sunday, May 1, with 30,000 riders traversing along York, Front, and Gold Streets, as well as the Brooklyn Bridge Promenade. (New York City Patch)
