Brooklyn Heights Sewage Leak Gone, Massive Hole In Road Appears
At least 100 residents were without water Thursday night due to the epic smelly poop water coming from a water main break on Montague St.
BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Workers dug a massive hole in the middle of the road on Montague Street the morning after the road flooded with smelly poop water due to a 12-inch water main break. All lanes on Montague Street between Clinton and Henry streets were closed off to vehicular traffic Friday morning.
The overwhelming flow of pungent toilet water on Thursday evening caused R trains to run on the Q train platform from around 3:30 - 8:30 p.m., which is when regular service was restored, according to the MTA. However 25 businesses and 100 residents near the break were still without water service overnight, according to a spokesperson for the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Water service was restored to all but three buildings Friday morning, according to the DEP spokesperson.

A DEP spokesperson said crews remain on the scene doing "necessary work," but questions about the massive hole — and when it will not be there anymore — were not addressed.
