Here are the top stories in Brooklyn Heights-DUMBO today:

  1. The intersection of Washington and Water Streets in DUMBO is considered to be one of the most 'instagramable'–or otherwise photogenic–in the entire city. A skylit loft on that corner, in a building that long ago housed the Tubal Cain Iron Works Factory, is now on the market for the extraordinarily high price of $5 million. (6Sqft)
  2. Three green roofs were installed on the Admiral's Row buildings at the Brooklyn Navy Yard this week. They cover over 23,000 square feet of rooftop, and are estimated to absorb close to 2.5 million gallons of rainwater per year. They will help keep rainfall out of the drainage system, and reduce sewer water runoff into the East River. (Brooklyn Eagle)
  3. The voter registration deadlines for New York's November elections is fast approaching on October 8th. Registration is online through the Department of Motor Vehicles, or via mail to the Brooklyn Board of Elections. (Gothamist)
  4. Governor Kathy Hochul announced her plans for the restaurant industry's recovery while in Brooklyn on Monday. Her plan–The Restaurant Resiliency Program–would provide $25 million to food banks and other emergency food providers to buy restaurant meals for food-insecure families. But state officials say they still need more funding from the federal government. (NYC Patch)
