- New York State's top appeals court announced on Wednesday its decision to throw out newly-drawn Congressional and State Senate district lines, suggesting they had been gerrymandered to favor Democratic lawmakers. This means the newly-drawn Senate district stretching from Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO to parts of Staten Island might be no more. The primary date will also likely be pushed back to sometime in August. (New York City Patch)
