- A law student's backpack was stolen from a bar on Smith Street, and a woman reported being robbed on the subway, after falling asleep for many stops. All that and more in the latest neighborhood crime blotter. (Brooklyn Paper)
- At their annual meeting, the DUMBO BID announced that 50% of street construction in the neighborhood is completed, although the remaining work could last another two years. The BID is planning to turn the Pearl Street Triangle and Archway into one massive pedestrian area–timing TBD. (Brooklyn Bridge Parents)
- Lincoln Restler spoke with host Errol Louis on New York One about his new role as co-chair of the City Council's 30+ member progressive caucus. The caucus wants to be a "counter-weight" to the mayor. One of the few specific issues he identified was opposing solitary confinement in the city's jails. (New York One)
