Here are the top three stories in Brooklyn Heights-DUMBO today:
- Councilman Lincoln Restler took on the Downtown Brooklyn "Schermerhorn challenge," which challenges bikers to ride the entirety of a seven-block bike path. As easy as it may sound, the task is almost impossible due to the insurmountable obstruction of illegally parked cars–many of which have city license plates. The Department of Transportation said it is working on a proposal to improve the bike path. (Brooklyn Paper)
- Brooklyn Bridge Parents takes a deep-dive into the 3K program at PS 307 in Vinegar Hill. All classrooms have two teachers and the curriculum features lessons in Mandarin. The school is hosting an open house on Thursday. (Brooklyn Bridge Parents)
- Brookfield Properties announced a plan Tuesday to redevelop a portion of Downtown Brooklyn into "Brooklyn Commons." The $50 million project involves renovating office buildings and park space. (6sqft)
