In Downtown Brooklyn, 4 Children Attack, Rob 30-Year-Old Man: Police

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, BROOKLYN — Four young children attacked a 30-year-old man in front of a co-op building near Fort Greene late last month — throwing him to the ground; punching him; and stealing his laptop bag, library book and headphones, according to the NYPD.

Three of the kids were just 12 to 14 years old, and the fourth was as young as 8 to 9 years old, police said.

On Friday, Nov. 25, around 30 minutes after midnight, the four kids approached the man in front of 191 Willoughby St. (the University Towers co-op building) and demanded his phone, the NYPD said. The kids then allegedly punched the victim; threw him to the ground; stole his belongings; and fled north on Ashland Place.

The first child was a girl around 12 to 14 years old with a "light complexion," police said. She was last seen wearing light pants and a green hoodie.

The second suspect was a boy around 12 to 14 years old with a "dark complexion," wearing light pants and a black sweatshirt with "Brooklyn" written on it in white letters, according to the NYPD.

The third kid was a boy around 12 to 14 years old with "medium complexion" who was last seen wearing dark pants and a gray hoodie, police said.

The fourth kid, a boy just 8 to 9 years old, had a "light complexion" and was last seen wearing dark pants and a dark hooded coat, police said.
