  1. A fundraiser was launched for Angel Pilataxi, the construction worker who fell to his death last week at a Brooklyn Heights construction site. An Ecuadorian immigrant, Pilataxi was the main 'breadwinner' in his family, according to the GoFundMe page which sets a goal of raising $20,000. (Brooklyn Paper)
  2. State Senator Diane Savino, who represents Staten Island and Coney Island in Brooklyn, announced that she isn't seeking reelection and is instead backing her former deputy chief of operations, Jessica Scarcella-Spanton. Starting in the June primary, Savino's district will include Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, and other northern Brooklyn nabes. (SILive.com)
  3. Leasing began at Magnolia DUMBO, at 85 Jay Street, a complex made up of two 21-story buildings with a total of 408 condominiums and 320 rental units. (New York YIMBY)
