- Brooklyn Heights' own theater company, Theater 2020, is putting on a live virtual reading with the Brooklyn Public Library on Saturday of the play “The Dark Lady of the Sonnets,” which tells the tale of a fictional impromptu encounter between Shakespeare and Queen Elizabeth I. - On Friday afternoon a garbage truck fatally struck a 62-year-old outside of Barclay's Center. Councilman Lincoln Restler blamed the incident in part on the Department of Transportation, stating the intersection along Flatbush Avenue wasn't adequately marked. (Brooklyn Paper)
- Brooklyn politicians are urging Mayor Adams to reconsider his proposal to cut funding to the Department of Sanitation by almost $50 million. Adams says his cuts would not result in additional layoffs, but instead would be the result of not filling currently vacant positions. He's also suspended the city's composting program (which was set to come back in Brooklyn Heights), citing low interest. (Gothamist)
