DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, NY — Katz's Delicatessen, a New York City iconic establishment, is planning to open an outpost in DeKalb Market Hall in just a few weeks, it announced. This is Katz's first location ever in Brooklyn.
"In just a few short weeks we will be opening the first ever Katz's Deli outpost! Keep an eye out for us at the old Albee Square Mall (now called CITY POINT) on the corner of Flatbush and Fulton Street in downtown Brooklyn. See you soon!" Katz's Instagram post reads.
Katz's opened in the Lower East Side in 1888 under the name Iceland Brothers and changed its name to Katz's in 1910. It's now a tourist destination for people around the world.

“Our goal is to offer Downtown Brooklyn not only great food, but also a destination that can serve as a community hub, and it wouldn’t feel quite right opening without our neighbors like Trader Joe’s and Fortina,” said market organizer Anna Castellani in a statement.
