Here are the top three stories today in Brooklyn Heights-DUMBO:
- The Brooklyn Heights Association has appointed a new president, 30-year resident Koren Volk, to take over from Erika Belsey Worth. Volk, a painter and Canadian transplant, will serve in the position until 2024. (Brooklyn Eagle)
- State officials are proceeding as usual in preparation for the June primaries, despite a judge's ruling that the newly drawn Assembly, State Senate, and Congressional district lines be redrawn. In the past several decades the state's court of appeals has never decreed redistricting proposals to be unconstitutional–so Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO will probably stay with Staten Island in the State Senate. (Politics NY)
- Several people were injured after 3 p.m. on Saturday during a crash on the Brooklyn Bridge, that closed down all eastbound traffic. One person was taken to Bellevue Hospital with critical injuries, while six more were treated on the scene. (New York City Patch)
