Here are the top three stories today in Brooklyn Heights-DUMBO:

  1. Based on the most recent data, it looks like public school enrollment is down all across the greater Brooklyn Heights/DUMBO area. There are a few key exception, including PS 20 in Fort Greene which actually grew 17% and PS 307 in Vinegar Hill that stay relatively stable. (Brooklyn Bridge Parents)
  2. Since the tragic death of Michelle Go, the 42-year-old who was pushed into the subway tracks at 42nd street, politicians and transit advocates have been pushing for protective doors on subway platforms. According to an analysis by Patch, platform doors would be feasible in some of the most dangerous stations – including Fulton Street on the A and C trains. Barclay's Center would not be possible, according to the MTA. (New York City Patch)
  3. There's a lot going on at the Brooklyn Museum this February. Whether you want to practice your Spanish, make some Andy Warhol-inspired art, or talk fashion and feminism, there's something for everyone. (Brooklyn Reader)
