Here are the top three stories in Brooklyn Heights-DUMBO today:

1. A quasi-public review is underway for the controversial art installation in Downtown Brooklyn's Abolitionist Plaza. Named after famous abolitionists who lived there, as well as a stop on the Underground Railroad, what was once a thriving Black neighborhood was all but destroyed by eminent domain in the past two decades. Now local residents and activists would like the park to reflect the legacy of the area's former residents. (Brownstoner)
2. There's lots to do in Brooklyn Heights and beyond this February! Celebrate lunar New Year's in Downtown Brooklyn or Brooklyn Heights, or bake a heart-shaped pizza in DUMBO. (Brooklyn Bridge Parents)
3. The proposed redistricting maps are out for State Assembly and Senate and they are -- strange. As proposed Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO's new senate district could stretch across New York harbor to northern Staten Island, as well as all the way south to Coney Island. (Redistricting and You)
