1. Brooklyn Heights resident preservationist Alex Herrera is receiving a prestigious award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy, to be present at a Manhattan church on April 20. A long-time former board member of the Brooklyn Heights Association, Herrera has led the charge to preserve many historic buildings across the city and neighborhood, even bringing owners to court when necessary.
