Cheyenne Wright, 29, was sentenced for shooting Luis Villot, prosecutors said.

DUMBO, NY — A woman will spend 19 years to life behind bars for the fatal shooting of a DUMBO father who was trying calm an argument, prosecutors said
Cheyenne Wright, 29, was sentenced to prison Wednesday after she gunned down Luis Villot, 29, in front of the Farragut Houses in 2016, District Attorney Eric Adams announced.
"The defendant showed little regard for the safety of her neighbors or children who were out enjoying a warm summer day," Adams said in a statement. "This outrageous behavior not only claimed the life of a loving father, but left a gaping hole in a family and a community."

Wright, who lived in the housing projects, got into a fight with a group of women in front of 192 Sands St. at about 6:14 p.m. on June 15, 2016, prosecutors said. She left the scene, but returned with a gun and started to fire into a crowd of people.
