Fight Escalates In Nassau Home As TV Thrown; Officer Hurt: Police

A 15-year-old boy faces multiple charges including second-degree assault for the Sunday night incident, police said.

NEW CASSEL, NY — A boy was arrested for incident in New Cassel on Sunday evening.

The 15-year-old got into an argument with a 56-year-old at their residence, police said. When officers arrived, the boy threw a television at the victim causing officers to intervene, police said.

An officer suffered a hand injury and was taken to an area hospital. The boy was arrested without incident. He was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree attempted assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

He was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in the Youth part of District Court.
