Hicksville Crash: Driver Trapped, 2 Hospitalized

HICKSVILLE, NY — Two people were hurt and rushed to a hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Hicksville that trapped one of the drivers. Two sedans crashed near Chain Lane and Jerusalem Avenue around 5:45 p.m. Saturday, officials said.

The Hicksville Fire Department and Nassau County police officers arrived to a trapped driver. Firefighters used the "jaws of life" tool to pop off a door and remove the driver. Two people were hospitalized at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow.

The northbound lanes of Jerusalem Avenue were closed while emergency crews worked the scene.
