Hicksville Crash On New Year's Day Leaves 2 Adults, 2 Kids Hurt

HICKSVILLE, NY — Four people — including two children — were hurt in a New Year's Day crash in Hicksville, officials said. The Hicksville Volunteer Fire Department rushed to the two-car wreck around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Jerusalem Avenue and Old Country Road.

Firefighters called in an alarm and checked for injuries. Two adults and two children were hurt and rushed to Nassau University Medical Center via Hicksville Ambulances and emergency medical crews.

Crews from Heavy Rescue Company No. 8 applied speedy dry to fluid spills on the roadway and secured two cars. The eastbound lanes of Old Country Road remained closed for about 20 minutes.
