Hicksville High School Selects Graduating Class Standout Students
The valedictorian and salutatorian were named for the Class of 2025.
HICKSVILLE, NY — Hicksville High School has announced its top two students for the Class of 2025.
Kailash Thayavally is the valedictorian and Mandeep Kaur is the school's salutatorian.
Thayavally is a member of several honor societies, including the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Social Studies Honor Society and Science National Honor Society.

He is vice president of the school’s Science National Honor Society, president of the Science Olympiad.
Outside of school, Thayavally has shadowed physicians, researched multiple sclerosis and cofounded a nonprofit organization based on teaching STEM to students called NextGenInspires.

Kaur is active in several societies, holding officer positions such as tech chair of the
Thespian Honor Society and secretary of the National English Honor Society. She is also a member of the Spanish Honor Society, Math Honor Society and Social Studies Honor Society.
Kaur is involved in numerous school clubs, including the International Outreach Club and the Astronomy Club. For the last four years, she has been the Class of 2025 treasurer.
Among many extracurricular activities, she volunteers every Sunday at her community religious
center and works with students in grades 3-9 at a local tutoring center.
