Lottery Winner From Carle Place Claims $3M Prize

The 59-year-old landscaper plans to use the money to buy a new house.

A landscaper from Carle Place claimed his ceremonial check on Friday for winning a multi million-dollar lottery prize. He is one of two of Nassau County's newest millionaires.

Pedro Argueta, 59, won the $3,000,000 jackpot prize on the popular 50X the Money scratch-off ticket.

“I play the Lottery three times a week,” Argueta said in a press release. “I had luck on this ticket in the past so I stuck with it.”

Argueta bought his ticket at New Carle Place Farm, located at at 514 Westbury Ave. in Carle Place. He scratched off the ticket in the store. “I was very surprised that I won the jackpot,” he said.

He opted to receive the one-time lump sum payment of $1,592,166. He plans to buy a new house with his winnings.

Argueta is the eighty-ninth New York Lottery player to claim a prize totaling $1,000,000 or more this year.

Satishkumar Patel, 37, of Manhasset Hills, also claimed his prize on Friday for his winning jackpot prize on the $5,000,000 Bankroll game.
