Man Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle In Nassau Saturday Night: Police

HICKSVILLE, NY — A man died after being struck by a vehicle in Hicksville Saturday night, police said.

According to Nassau County police, the crash took place at 7:34 p.m. Orlando Yanes, 45, of Hicksville, was hit by a 2021 Toyota RAV4 traveling southbound on Jerusalem Avenue, while he was attempting to cross Jerusalem Avenue in the vicinity of Gem Court.

He suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead by a medic at the scene, police said.

The female driver of the Toyota, 32, remained at the scene and no charges were filed, police said. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
