Man Drove Drunk With 12-Year-Old Daughter In Car: Police

A Suffolk County man is accused of driving while intoxicated with his 12-year-old daughter in the car in Old Westbury on Sunday morning.

According to authorities, 41-year-old Central Islip resident Jose Saravia was pulled over after he was observed violating multiple vehicle and traffic law violations while driving a white 2006 Cadillac northbound on Guinea Woods Road at 3:15 a.m.

Police say he had glassy bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. His 12-year-old was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the incident, police say.

He was placed under arrest without incident and was charged with aggravated DWI, endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of DWI and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.

He will be arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
