Several Nassau Schools Win Grants In Robotics Competition

Optimum Innovator Award winners will receive grants of $2,000; runners-up will receive $1,500; and honorable mentions will receive $500.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Several schools from Nassau County are among the winners of the 6th Annual Optimum Innovator Awards.

The national competition recognizes teams for innovation and in areas of community engagement, technology, inspiration, diversity and sustainability.

  • POBots from Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School with the Community Impact Award
  • Regal Eagles from Bethpage High School with the Inspiration Award (runner-up)
  • Rebel Robotics from William A. Shine Great Neck South High School with the Inclusion Award

Hicksville High School's J-Birds, the Cybercats of Old Westbury received Honorable Mentions.
