2 Hurt in U-Turn Crash in Huntington Station

A woman was seriously injured in the crash Sunday morning, police say.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY – Two people were injured, one seriously, in a two-car crash in Huntington Station Sunday morning, police said.

According to Suffolk Police, a 58-year-old Queens woman was driving a Hyundai Elantra south on New York Avenue in the right lane when she attempted to make a U-turn at the intersection at Henry Street at about 9:50 a.m.

The Elantra was struck by a 2014 Dodge Ram that was traveling south in the left lane. The woman was transported to Southside Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the Dodge, a 48-year-old Huntington Station man, was transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Both drivers, who police did not identify, were alone in their vehicles.

Huntington Manor firefighters responded to the scene and helped free the woman who was trapped in her car after the crash.
