Abbott Drive Home Burns
Halesite Fire Department reports no injuries in early-morning blaze.

About 60 firefighters battled a blaze for more than an hour Friday morning before getting it under control.
Occupants of the one-story home on Abbott Drive escaped uninjured from the 4 a.m. blaze.
The Halesite Fire Department, aided by units from Huntington, Huntington Manor, Cold Spring Harbor, Greenlawn and Centerport, put down the fire.
"The house was fully involved on arrival," said Chief Dan McConnell, who was in charge of the scene. "Halesite initiated an aggressive interior attack and quickly knocked down the fire" which was brought under control by 5:23 a.m.
Arson was called per routine protocols and no injuries were reported, McConnell said. The house was seriously damaged.
Northport sent an engine  to Halesite's headquarters and Huntington Community First Aid Squad stood by with an ambulance.
