Barnes & Noble Of Huntington Station Sets Opening Date

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — Barnes & Noble is set to open in Huntington Station on March 26, the bookstore announced.

The new Barnes & Noble is located at 301 Walt Whitman Road, across from the Huntington Shopping Center, in the space formerly occupied by Johnson Fitness & Wellness.

The new Barnes & Noble is set to open at 9 a.m. March 26, with bestselling author Tessa Bailey cutting the ribbon and signing copies of her books, including the "Bellinger Sisters" series and her latest release, "Dream Girl Drama."

The bookstore will feature the new design seen in the franchise's most recent openings. The shop will carry books, toys, games and gifts. The bookstore will also house an updated B&N Café.

"While we were saddened to leave East Northport, we could not be happier with the space we have found in Huntington," said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble, in a news release. "Here we bring the community a completely updated Barnes & Noble and, fittingly, do so right next to the birthplace of one of the greatest American poets."

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of "tremendous growth" as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven "so successful," according to the company.

The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening "many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers," the company stated. In 2024, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019.

Barnes & Noble of Huntington Station was initially set to open on Feb. 26 before the grand opening was delayed a month.

The bookseller expects to open more than 60 new bookstores in 2025.

The Huntington location is one of four new Barnes & Noble bookstores set to open in March, alongside new stores in Florida, Michigan, and Virginia. Each grand opening has drawn "enthusiastic crowds that wrap around the building," filling the store as the ribbon is cut, the company shared.

"We are so excited to bring Barnes and Noble back to the community of Huntington and surrounding areas," said Store Manager Kyle Goehle, Barnes & Noble Bookseller of five years. "I can’t wait for all the new memories our customers will make with our brand-new bookstore and café!"
