Bicyclist Critically Injured in Huntington Station

A man is in critical condition after police say he was struck by a car in Huntington Station while riding his bike on Wednesday night.

According to authorities, a 2007 Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Broadway and crossing Route 110 when it struck a bicyclist who was riding in the center of the southbound lanes at 7:55 p.m.

Bicyclist Miguel Vilorio Ponce, 31, of Huntington Station, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The driver of the Honda was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the crash is under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
