Bio: Labate is a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army Reserve who has been called to active duty three times since Sept. 11, 2001, including service in Iraq. He is currently a financial planner.

Labate holds a Certified Retirement Counselor designation from the International Foundation of Retirement Education and most recently worked as a Retirement Counselor with Prudential Retirement.

Orginially from Ozone Park, Labate enrolled in the ROTC program at St. John's University and earned a commission in the U.S. Army upon graduation.

A member of the VFW, American Legion and Knights of Columbus, Labate has made national security and job creation his core focus.
