GROK, Cold Spring Harbor Jr./Sr. HS Art And Literary Magazine, Recognized

The magazine ​received a rank of "First Class" in the 2024 Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazine Contest.

COLD SPRING HARBOR, NY — GROK, the Cold Spring Harbor Jr./Sr. High School art and literary magazine, was recognized, the school district announced.

The magazine received a rank of "First Class" in the 2024 Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazine Contest by the National Council of Teachers of English.

In 2024, 422 magazines across 46 states were submitted for consideration in the contest. Out of those, only 125 were awarded the First-Class designation. This is the highest honor the GROK publication has received to date.

This year marked the 40th volume of GROK, arranged and edited by students Henry Zhao, Anna Baudo and Jasmine Mehta. The publication features a diverse sampling of outstanding student-created writing and art.

"I am so proud of all the talented students who contributed their work, as well as our student editors who dedicated many hours to creating such a beautiful publication," adviser April Henry said in a news release.
