Cops: Pedestrian Killed in Dix Hills Crash
The incident occurred Sunday morning, police said.

A pedestrian was killed while trying to cross Deer Park Avenue and MacNeice Place in Dix Hills Sunday morning, authorities said.
Suffolk Police said John Capalbo was driving a 2003 Lincoln south on Deer Park Avenue when his vehicle struck a person who was trying to cross from west to east at MacNeice Place at about 6:20 a.m.
The pedestrian was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. Capalbo, 54, of Dix Hills, was not injured, police said.

The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
