Country Music Concert, Barbeque Cook-Off In Centerport

There will be live country music, barbecue food, line dancing, drinks and more at this second annual Country Concert and BBQ Cook-Off in Centerport this weekend.

The event will be held Saturday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Centerport Beach, located at the end of Little Neck Road. The event is hosted by the Centerport Fire Department.

The concert will feature live music by Nashville recording artists "Joe Bayer Band." Joe Bayer received the "Entertainer of the Year" and "Touring Band of the Year" awards by Country Blast Radio in Nashville last year.

Barbecue Cook-Off teams will also be competing for bragging rights for who cooks the best chicken, ribs and beef in the area.

Attendees can crab hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, pulled pork, smoked sausage, roasted corn, ice cream and beverages provided by Centerport firefighters.

Entry is $10 per person. Children under 12 are free. Tickets can be purchased in advance from any member of the Centerport Fire Department.
