Filming in Huntington: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler Comedy

Crews spotted in Dix Hills Wednesday, Huntington village Thursday

Film crews are in the Town of Huntington this week to shoot the Tina Fey and Amy Poehler movie, “Sisters.”

Previously called “The Nest,” the comedy also stars Maya Rudolph, Ike Barinholtz, John Leguizamo, Dianne Wiest, John Cena and James Brolin.

The plot centers around two sisters who reunite to throw a house party before their parents sell their childhood home.

On Thursday, crews were spotted at in Huntington village Jon Megaris salon, which is closed for business, and will re-open Friday.

On Wednesday, crews shot scenes in a Dix Hills home Wednesday, Town of Huntington Spokesman AJ Carter confirmed to Patch.

Carter said the production company secured a permit from the town, and paid the required fee, to use the municipal parking lot next to the Soldiers and Sailors building for its equipment, including six campers, five equipment trucks and trailers and other assorted equipment.

The shoot involves 120 cast and crew members. The permit is from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday.

“As Supervisor Petrone has noted, this helps bring recognition to Huntington as a Town supportive of the arts, may encourage tourists to visit Huntington village and bring direct business to village merchants as some of the 120 cast and crew may patronize local restaurants and shops,” Carter said.
