Good Friday Service at Huntington UMC

Pastors from around the area participate in Seven Last Words service.

Pastors from around the area are marking Good Friday with solemn services at the United Methodist Church of Huntington and Cold Spring Harbor.

The Seven Last Words service begins at noon, and includes readings from the Gospels on the crucifixion, prayer and hymns.

Among the participating pastors are the Rev. Larry Jennings of Bethel AME Church in Huntington, Father Steven Donnelly of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, the Rev. Carol Bloom of Centerport United Methodist Church, the Rev. Nelson Kalombo Ngoy of East Norwich Community UMC, the Rev. David Czeisel of Village Church of Bayville & Carpenter Memorial UMC, the Rev. Lynda Bates-Stepe of  Commack UMC, and the Rev. Luonne Rouse, the host church pastor.

The service will conclude with Jennings, using the Gospel of Luke 23:46 and the words, "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit" and the hymn, Lift High the Cross.
