Harborfields HS Announces National Merit Semifinalists
Three Harborfields students scored among the top 16,000 nationwide, placing them in the top 1 percent of all entrants.

GREENLAWN, NY — Harborfields High School seniors Francis DeGregorio, Alexander Meagher, and Andrew Walden were named semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program, the school district announced.
Since 1955, the National Merit Program has recognized and honored academically talented
students of the United States. This year, more than 3.5 million students from across the country
took the PSAT/National Merit Qualifying Test, but only a small amount met the Selection Index
scores.
DeGregorio, Meagher and Walden scored among the top 16,000 students nationwide, making them some of the highest-scoring entrants in the state and placing them in the top one percent of all entrants.
