Huntington Pharmacy Hosts Winter Coat Drive

Huntington’s Country Village Chemists is hosting its annual winter coat drive to help those less fortunate.

The pharmacy is collecting gently used winter coats, gloves and hats, from now through March, to help local families in need stay warm during the cold winter months.

All donated items are dropped off weekly at participating local churches and shelters.

Anyone who contributes will receive a 10 percent discount card for wellness and gift items at the pharmacy.

Caryn Burns, owner and president at Country Village Chemists, says initiatives like the coat drive help set the business apart from some of the company’s bigger competitors, while also giving back to Huntington.

“Our pharmacy distinguishes itself from the chains we see popping-up everywhere by emphasizing and maintaining a valuable connection with our customers and their needs,” Burns said.

“This connection extends beyond to the community we love to serve and be a part of,” she added. “Helping those in need speaks to all our hearts.”

Country Village Chemists is located at 227-229 E. Main Street in Huntington, New York. Drop off items Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. or Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
