Huntington Police Blotter: 3 Charged In Robbery

Three men were accused of stealing jewelry and a bicycle from someone at knifepoint, police say. ALSO: Home break-in reported, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from March 3 through March 9.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • March 7: Pedro Lopez-Zuniga, 18, of South Huntington, displayed a knife and stole jewelry and a bike from someone on New York Avenue in Huntington Station around 7:10 p.m. Feb. 27, police said. Two others were arrested in connection with the robbery, police said. Lopez-Zuniga was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery: use/threatens use of dangerous instrument.
  • March 7: Marlon Mejia-Reyes, 20, of Huntington Station, displayed a knife and stole jewelry and a bike from someone on New York Avenue in Huntington Station around 7:10 p.m. Feb. 27, police said. Two others were arrested in connection with the robbery, police said. Mejia-Reyes was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery: use/threatens use of dangerous instrument.
  • March 7: Alejandro Mejia, 21, of South Huntington, displayed a knife and stole jewelry and a bike from someone on New York Avenue in Huntington Station around 7:10 p.m. Feb. 27, police said. Two others were arrested in connection with the robbery, police said. Mejia was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery: use/threatens use of dangerous instrument.

Incidents

  • March 7: Burglary (second-degree) was reported on Crescent Beach Drive in Huntington at 5:30 p.m. A man entered someone's home, police said. The man ran out through the back door without damaging or stealing anything, police said.
  • March 4: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Ludlam Street in Huntington Station at 11:07 a.m. Money was stolen from someone's bank account during two separate transactions, police said.
