Huntington Police Blotter: Man Robbed Of Jewelry, Bicycle At Knifepoint

HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Feb. 24 through March 2.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

Arrests

• Feb. 27: Marlon Mejia-Reyes, 20, of Huntington Station, stole a man's jewelry and bicycle on New York Avenue in Huntington Station while displaying and threatening the use of a knife around 7:10 p.m. Feb. 27, police said. He was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery: use/threatens use of dangerous instrument.
• Feb. 27: Alejandro Mejia, 21, of South Huntington, stole a man's jewelry and bicycle on New York Avenue in Huntington Station while displaying and threatening the use of a knife around 7:10 p.m. Feb. 27, police said. He was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery: use/threatens use of dangerous instrument.
• Feb. 27: Norman Reyes, 50, who is without a known address, sold cocaine on Kilmer Avenue in Dix Hills around 4:15 p.m. Feb. 6, police said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance: narcotic drug.

Incident

• Feb. 26: Identity theft (first-degree) was reported on Cove Road in Huntington at 10:32 a.m. Someone stole a man's identity and used it to open accounts in his name, police said.
